A Little Pub History
The Golden Lion enjoys beautiful views over rural fenland where on a clear day the eye can see for miles.
Close by is the historic Stonea camp a iron age hillfort dating from around 500BC,
it is thought that this was also the site of the battle between the Roman governor Ostorius and the Iceni in 47AD
The Golden Lion is a friendly country pub built back in 1827,
it is located in the small hamlet of Stonea in the middle of the Cambridgeshire Fens.
The pub also boasts a restaurant , a campsite for touring caravans and tents as well as static caravans for rent.

The current owners, Andy and Christina have owned the pub since 2010, since arriving they have embraced the spirit of the pub,
becoming a very central part of the local community as well as creating a fantastic menu.
To this day guests find it hard to leave the picturesque location, next to the Sixteen foot waterway.
Originally a simple pub, it now boasts a fantastic reputation for food, drink and friendlyness good wines excellent beers and real ales both from
local brewers and further afield, make the best of the British weather by lingering over a relaxing drink in the pretty beer garden with bouncy castle for the little ones.
Friendly and inviting, The Golden Lion is the perfect location for enjoying a relaxed dinner in the restaurant or garden,
having a Sunday roast by the fire whilst soaking up the idyllic atmosphere.
You are welcome to bring your very well-behaved four legged friend to the pub. But please mention this when you book as we want to make sure we can
accommodate you. Dogs are only allowed in certain parts of the pub and must always be on the lead.

Saturday 1200 - 2300
Sunday 1200 - 1800
Food available everyday From Opening last orders taken at 2100
Sunday Carvery from Opening to 1430 (booking strongly advised)
